Pulp Friction has had the exciting opportunity to work with students from the Nottingham Business School (NBS) at Nottingham Trent University.
This collaboration saw a group of enthusiastic students from the ‘Entrepreneurship Projects’ course study our charity, and develop entrepreneurial ideas for both the short and long-term growth of Pulp Friction.
On February 18th, a dedicated team from Pulp Friction visited the iconic Newton Building at the University to meet with the students involved. During the visit, a collection of Pulp Friction Members, alongside Jill and Angela, introduced themselves, shared insights about Pulp Friction, and answered initial questions from the students.
Seeing Pulp Friction in Action
A month later, the NBS students made their way to our Community Hub to gain a deeper understanding of our day-to-day operations. The visit included a tour of our community garden, polytunnel, and the bustling Café, providing students with a hands-on feel of the Pulp Friction experience. Following the tour, a Q&A session allowed students to ask Jill and our team any remaining questions they had, after a month of studying the charity. This engagement helped refine their ideas and shaped the entrepreneurial solutions they were eager to present.
Student Presentations and Innovative Ideas
The day of the project presentations arrived, and a group of Pulp Friction Members, along with Jill and Trustee Dawn, traveled to the University. During the presentations, the students showcased their innovative ideas, each one uniquely tailored to help Pulp Friction grow and thrive in the future. We were thoroughly impressed by their creativity and strategic thinking. Several ideas stood out, and we’ve already started discussing how we might bring some of them to life.

Gratitude and Moving Forward
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the students and the teaching team at Nottingham Business School for their outstanding work, commitment, and dedication. Their efforts not only helped us gain fresh perspectives but also reinforced the exciting possibilities that lie ahead for Pulp Friction.
We wish all the students the best of luck with their individual reports, and we’re excited to see where their entrepreneurial journeys will take them!
