Sustainability.

We are supporting the reduction of food waste across the Midlands!

“We have saved 10 tonnes of food from going to waste in the last 12 months”

Proud to be working in partnership with...

We believe in caring for our environment.

We are committed to being as sustainable as possible by reusing what we eat, growing our own fruit and vegetables, running our wormery, our composting and sharing this ethos to the catering enterprises that we host.

We are committed to being as sustainable as possible by reusing what we eat and creating more opportunities for a greener running social enterprise from our wormery and our composting through to the catering enterprises that we host.

Our Food Delivery Network.

Food is taken in by Fareshare.
We work closely with Fare Share who collect and
take in food from supermarkets, shops and other
food outlets, that would otherwise simply go to waste.
Delivery!
We then pay Fare Share a annual fee of £1,900 to make
weekly deliveries to our HQ in Bestwood
Sorting & Cleaning.
Once we receive our delivery, we then take the
time to ensure that all the food given to us is suitable
for consumption. We clean and asses the food.
(although the majority of arrives with us in tip tip condition!)
Distribution.
We distribute all the food we receive across our
catering network for use at all the catering events and
services.
Food Collections.
We also make regular collection from Lidl, Tesco
and Marks & Spenser's of food that would otherwise
go to waste.
Composting.
Any food that we take that just simply cannot be used,
when assesed during the sorting and cleaning,
we recyle through our Plan-it compost and onsite
worm compost bins.

In a year, we have fed over 10,000 people using food that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Our Partnership with Fare Share.

Our partnership with FareShare began in 2019 when we started working with them to utilise food that would have otherwise gone to waste. FareShare Midlands provide us with surplus food which we use in our catering enterprises across the Midlands.
